Rome, GA - Atlanta Braves pitcher John Thomson will pitch Tuesday night for the Rome Braves as part of a Major League Baseball rehab assignment. Thomson was placed on the disabled list July 15th and becomes the seventh Major League player to serve a rehabilitation stint in Rome in 2006. Atlanta players Brian McCann, Chuck James, Lance Cormier, Phil Stockman, Horacio Ramirez, and Kelly Johnson have all worn Rome jerseys in 2006.
Wi-fi now at the Stadium: A wireless Internet network, or Wi-Fi, is up and running at State Mutual Stadium just in time for the Business Person's Special game on Wednesday at 1pm. Fans can enjoy wireless internet access anywhere in the seating area at no charge courtesy of the Rome Braves. Those using the service will be asked to complete a short information sheet at the Customer Service booth on the front concourse.
