
Thomas, P-Bruins shut out Hartford

The Providence Bruins extended their season-high unbeaten streak to six games (4-0-2-0) on Wednesday night in Hartford, as the Black and Gold skated to a 1-0 victory over the Wolf Pack. The Bruins are now 20-12-10-0 (50 points) on the season, keeping them in second place in the Atlantic Division, five points behind division-leading Hartford.
Bruin goaltender Tim Thomas stopped all 30 shots he faced for his third shutout of the season. His record now stands at 10-6-5. The shutout was his fourth as a Bruin, moving him into third place on the franchise career list, behind John Grahame (7) and Andrew Raycroft (6).
Bruin forward Brendan Walsh notched the lone goal of the game on a third period power play. It was his sixth goal of the season, and fourth in his last five games. Matt Herr and Peter Metcalf had the assists.
The Bruins return home to host the Manchester Monarchs on Dunkin' Donuts Mug Night, Friday, January 23 at 7:05 p.m. All fans in attendance will receive a free Providence Bruins mug, courtesy of Dunkin' Donuts. Friday's game will also be the first of four to be televised live on COX-3. Corey Masse and Bob Norton will broadcast all the action.
