Moose Announce "Tin for the Bin"

The Moose are proud to announce the game on Friday, January 23, 2004 against the Toronto Roadrunners will be a chance to a bring a "tin for the bin". The organization encourages all fans to drop off a food donation for the Winnipeg Harvest Food Bank.

At the game, Peak of the Market volunteers and families will be at the doors to accept food donations. Peak of the Market growers will match all donations pound for pound with fresh vegetables.

Last season, Peak of the Market and Moose fans set a record in 2003 when fans brought the equivalent of 17,878 pounds. With Peak of the Market growers matching it with fresh vegetables, the total grew to 35,756 pounds.

"We are looking forward to a large crowd at the Moose game on Friday and invite Moose fans to generously donate to the Winnipeg Harvest Food Bank and help us shut out hunger," stated Larry McIntosh, President and CEO of Peak of the Market.

Money donations will also be accepted on Friday. Winnipeg Harvest will convert the dollars into pounds of food and the Peak of the Market will match that amount.
