Everett Silvertips News Release
Pink the Rink Raises Over $78,000
The Silvertips would like to thank all of our loyal fans and supporters, as well as Safeway, for helping us raise more money for the local fight against breast cancer through last week's "Pink the Rink" event than the previous two years combined, totaling over $78,000 in donations! Since 2009, the Silvertips' "Pink the Rink" has now raised over $129,000 to pay for free mammograms for local women with no insurance or no means to pay. A generous donation of $50,000 from Safeway, which was announced just prior to the game against Seattle, helped give the fundraising efforts an enormous boost. The rest of the astounding total was accomplished thanks to the combined donations made by fans mostly through sales of tickets, team-signed sticks, and the auction of the specialty pink jerseys worn by the Silvertips during the game.
