This Week in Hounds Nation
November 18, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Soo Greyhounds News Release
It's going to be a busy weekend in Sault Ste Marie with a pair of home games against Eastern Conference opponents and key and off-ice events including the much anticipated Teddy Bear Toss/Stuff-A-Bus Night (more below).
The Greyhounds enter Week 9 of OHL action with a record of 8 wins, 9 losses and 3 overtime losses, good for 19 points.
Thanks to a 3-point road trip last weekend (overtime win at Flint & overtime loss at Windsor) the Hounds hold onto 3rd spot in the West Division by a single point over both the Flint Firebirds and Saginaw Spirit.
Plantation, Florida product GABE GUERTLER has now moved into a tie for most-goals scored by the Hounds thanks to a stretch that has seen him score six goals in his last five games.
The overage forward now sits with 10 goals and 6 assists on the season.
Here's a preview of the HOME games this weekend;
Friday November 20 vs Kingston Frontenacs
7:07PM - Essar Centre - Only trip to Sault Ste Marie
Game presented by Home Depot
The Kingston Frontenacs make their only regular season trip to Sault Ste Marie this Friday. It was one season ago (2014-15) the Greyhounds won both games against the Frontenacs, thus sweeping the season series.
So far this year the Frontenacs have gotten off to a great start and currently sit in the top spot in the Eastern Conference. With the addition of college winger Warren Foegele (from the University of New Hampshire) and strong play from World Junior hopeful Spencer Watson (12G-12A-24PTS), the Frontenacs will be looking to flip the script this season.

Saturday Night (Nov. 21) the Greyhounds host our annual Teddy Bear Toss / Stuff-A-Bus Night for Christmas Cheer.
Fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal to the game (wrapped in a plastic bag) and when the Hounds score their first goal, fans can throw their animals onto the ice!
In addition, a Sault Transit bus will be on-site collecting new or gently used clothes and toys along with non-perishable food items with ALL items collected going to Christmas Cheer to brighten the holidays for families in our community this holiday season.
On the ice, the Petes bring their 60th Anniversary season squad to town led by a experience blue line. Among those defence include former Greyhound Kyle Jenkins and Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Matt Spencer.
