Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Recap of Last Week-Breaking Attendance Record
The Road Warriors entered the weekend in the Century BMW Rink at the BI-LO Center for a three game set against the Elmira Jackals. The weekend started off with a shootout victory for Greenville on Friday night. Tyler Fernandez and Danny Hobbs scored in the shootout and Scott Stajcer saved seven of eight opportunities to notch the 4-3 victory.
Saturday drew the largest crowd in Road Warriors history. An attendance of 7,529 surpassed the crowd the Road Warriors brought in on February 9th. The Road Warriors fell by a score of 5-2. Sunday would tell a similar story as the Jackals knocked off the Road Warriors 3-2. Elmira collected five of six possible points during the weekend series.
Week Ahead
The Road Warriors have an extremely important three game series against the South Carolina Stingrays at the North Charleston Coliseum. Only one point separates the two teams and they are currently ranked in the sixth and seventh playoff positions. Greenville began the season going 5-1-0 against South Carolina. After going 1-2-0 against South Carolina to finish the month of February, the season series is now 6-3-0 for the Road Warriors.
.Streaks and Stats
Marc-Olivier Vallerand ranks tenth in the ECHL scoring race with 60 points. T.J. Reynolds' goal on Saturday was his second of the year, the most he's scored in a single season with the Road Warriors. Ryan Flanigan has a four-game assist streak dating back to February 24th. Steven Delisle continues to lead the team in plus-minus with a +20 rating.
Transactions
Scott Stajcer was reassigned to the Road Warriors by the New York Rangers early last week. In lieu of the reassignment the Road Warriors released goaltender Robert Moss.
