ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades announced two transactions on Monday. Forward Danick Gauthier has been reassigned to the team from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. Additionally, goaltender Rob Madore was recalled to the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL.
Gauthier, 21, has appeared in 29 games for the Crunch this season, registering seven points (5g, 2a). On Jan. 9, the 6-2, 210-pound winger recorded his first career multi-point game (1g, 1a) and first career game-winning goal at Rochester on Jan. 9.
Last season Gauthier played for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL, contributing 86 points (47g, 39a) in 66 regular season games. After four seasons with Saint John, Gauthier signed as a free-agent with the Tampa Bay Lightning in March of 2012.
Madore, 24, heads to Charlotte having posted an 11-12-3 record, a 3.30 goals against average, and a .900 save percentage this season split between the Everblades and the Evansville IceMen.
Last season Madore concluded his four-year career at the University of Vermont. Following his collegiate career last spring, Madore joined the Chicago Express (ECHL) and posted an 8-3-1 record. The Pittsburgh, PA native also appeared in five playoff games last season for the South Carolina Stingrays.
Florida opens up a four-game road swing in Cincinnati on Wednesday beginning at 7:35 p.m. The game will be broadcast on 96 K-Rock (96.1 FM).
The Everblades next home game is Wednesday, March 13 against the South Carolina Stingrays. It will be the final Wednesday game of the regular season, and the fan's last chance to enjoy $2 drafts, $2 wines, and $2 hot dogs all night long.
