Wichita is one of the three original Central Hockey League teams dating back to the league's re-birth in the spring of 1992. Wichita is currently tied for sixth in the CHL's Turner conference with 22 points and are coached by former NHL'er Kevin McClelland who won four Stanley Cups with the Edmonton Oilers as a player in the 1980's.
