Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs would like to say thank you to all of the Mudbugs fans and supporters who contributed to our coat and toy drives during home games this past weekend!
Thanks to your generosity, the Mudbugs will deliver 110 coats to the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission and the Salvation Army this week. The coats will then go to help less fortunate members of our community stay warm during the cold winter months.
Mudbugs fans also donated nearly 600 stuffed toys during Saturday night's "Teddy Bear Toss", a great hockey tradition where the stuffed toys were thrown directly onto the ice! From there they will be collected by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve "Toys for Tots" Program and distributed by the Salvation Army to local children in need of a brighter holiday season.
Every Mudbugs fan who bought a ticket to Friday's game also played a role in helping special needs kids through Med Camps of Louisiana. One dollar from every ticket sold for Friday's game will be donated to Med Camps, an organization which organizes and hosts free summer camps for Louisiana children facing physical and mental disabilities.
