Bucks Stung in OT, 4-3

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 4-3 in overtime Tuesday night at Laredo Energy Arena. The Bucks are winless in their last two games (0-1-1) as they fall to 9-10-4 (22 points).

Tomas Klempa scored with just 1:24 left in overtime to complete a two-goal comeback for the Killer Bees as they improve to 9-12-3 (21 points).

Juliano Pagliero stopped 32 of 35 shots while Sean Muncy had three assists to lead Rio Grande Valley to the win. Laredo is 5-2-3 in their last 10 games.

The Bucks lead the Cricket Mayor's Cup standings eight points to seven.

The Killer Bees jumped out in front of the Bucks 1-0 just 4:25 into the game when Zak McClellen scored from the slot. The goal was McClellan's sixth of the season.

The Bucks would tie the game at 1-1 when they struck on a late power-play with just 3:53 left in the first. Neil Trimm scored from the bottom of the left circle off of a pass from Daniel Koger behind the net to pick up his eighth goal of the season.

Laredo outshot Rio 11-5 in the first period.

The Bucks would score twice in the first 8:19 of the second period to take a 3-1 lead only to see the Bees score twice in the final nine minutes to tie the game at 3-3 after 40 minutes.

Darryl Smith deflected in a pass from just in front of the net 56 seconds into the second to give the Bucks a 2-1 edge. The goal was Smith's fourth of the season.

Laredo would go up 3-1 at the 8:19 mark of the second when Jarred Mohr scored on a wrist shot from the left circle to net his second of the campaign.

The Bees would cut the Bucks lead to 3-2 at the 10:58 mark of the second when Darcy Campbell hammred in a slap shot on the power-play from the top of the left circle. The goal was Campbell's ninth of the season.

Rio would tie the game at 3-3 with 3:01 left in the second when Brett Wilson scored on a breakaway to pick up his sixth of the year.

The Bucks outshot the Bees 13-9 in the second period.

Neither team was able to score in the third period as the game was sent to overtime. The Bucks were outshot 9-8 in the third period.

Laredo outshot Rio in the game 35-25.

Pier Pelletier stopped 21 of 25 shots to suffer the loss for the Bucks.

Hans Benson was scratched Tuesday night with an illness.

The Bucks will travel to Odessa Friday night (Dec. 17th) to take on the Jackalopes.

BUCKS TO DELIVER TOYS WEDNESDAY

The Bucks, along with Doctors Hospital, announced that they collected 189 toys during their annual toy drive at the Bucks December 2nd game at Laredo Energy Arena.

The toys will be delivered by Bucks players and front office staff members to the pediatric cancer patients and children with blood related diseases at Doctors Hospital on Wednesday December 15th at 1pm. The 189 toys collected this year surpassed last year's total of 157.
