
The Devil Rays hand the Wizards a win

Southwest Michigan Devil Rays News Release
The Southwest Michigan Devil Rays lost a heartbreaker to the Ft. Wayne Wizards on Thirsty Thursday by a final score of 7-6. The Rays had one of their best hitting performances of the season but that wasn't enough to overcome their seven errors.
Wade Davis took the mound for the Baby Rays had a rough outing. Davis pitched four innings and gave up six hits and four runs with two of them earned. He was charged with the loss which was his fifth in a row. Davis failed to register a strikeout for the first time this season. His previous low this season was three k's.
Chris Kelly came in to relieve Davis in the fifth inning and tossed two frames. Kelly fanned two Wizards and gave up four hits and three unearned runs. Kevin Lynn threw 2.1 solid innings, striking out two and giving up two hits.
The D-Rays bats showed up tonight as they had 15 hits. J.T. Hall went 3-5 with one RBI and one run scored in his first game back from a mild ankle injury. He was one of five Rays with multiple hits in the game.
Cesar Suarez blasted a solo shot over the left field wall in the bottom of the fourth inning. It was Suarez's second home run of the year. He finished 2-5 with one RBI and one run scored.
The loss was the Devil Rays seventh in a row. Their second half record falls to 1-7 and 33-44 for the season.
The Rays and the Wizards square off again at 7:05 Friday night. The ZOOperstars will be in town to entertain the crowd with their crazy shenanigans. It is also Girl Scout night where area girl scouts will be in attendance to cheer on the Devil Rays and then spend the night in the stadium. In addition, the United Way will be in attendance to spread their message to the fans.
