
The Bears and the Bees, Attack Suffer 6-3 Stinger to Sarnia

Talk about a rollercoaster ride. The Owen Sound Attack met the Sarnia Sting for the second of four games tonight in the 2018-19 season, and what a back and forth game it was. At least until halfway through the second when the Bears took control to sting Sarnia with another win, 6-3 at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena tonight.
Nick Suzuki wasted no time and found the back of the net 1:15 into the game for his sixth goal of the season. The play was assisted by Alan Lyszczarczyk.
Brady Lyle and Curtis Egert are sent to the box and the game was sent to 4 on 4 hockey for two minutes of play. Lyle received a cross checking minor while Curtis was sent for charging, at 11:16.
Markus Phillips headed to the box for hooking at 15:59, sending Sarnia to their first powerplay of the game. The Bears are able to kill the penalty and score remained 1-0.
Nolan Seed was caught hooking Sarnia headed to the powerplay once again at 19:31. Period ends with 1:31 left in the powerplay.
Mark McDade Chestnut Park shots on goal sat at only 3 for the Attack, while Sarnia had 10.
The second period started with Nolan Seed still in the box for a minute and a half, and the Sting came out with momentum. Sean Josling found the back of the net as he sniped the puck past Mack Guzda to tie it up at 0:44 into the second. The play was assisted by Hugo Leufvenius and Mitch Eliot.
Only 29 seconds later, rookie Jacob Perreault put the puck in and just like that, Sarnia took the lead 2-1. Perreault's goal was assisted by Franco Sproviero at 1:13.
Kevin Hancock responded, and sent the puck straight past Sting netminder Ethan Langevin to tie the score up 2-2 at 4:02. Hancock recorded his 13th point of the season, with his goal assisted by Lyszczarczyk and Suzuki.
Sting's Ryan McGregor kept the rollercoaster game going and scored on Guzda and Sarnia took a 3-2 lead at 7:37 into the second. McGregor's goal was unassisted.
Kelton Hatcher headed to the box for slashing for the Sting, sending the Attack to their first powerplay of the game at 10:20. Only 36 seconds later, the Sting are caught for too many men and the Bears headed to 5 on 3 play.
Hancock wasted no time yet again and found the back of the net at 11:52 on the two-man advantage to bring the game to a tie score once again, at 3-3. Suzuki and Sean Durzi had the assist.
Brady Lyle snuck the puck past Langevin at 14:59 and the Attack took the lead once again at 4-3.
Sting's Nick Grima was sent to the box for slashing and the Attack headed back on the powerplay at 15:25. Sarnia killed the penalty and the Attack maintained the lead.
Mark McDade Chestnut Park shots on goal in the second period were 17-10, in favour of the Bears.
The third period started with action in both ends for the first 5 minutes of play but no one was able to find the back of the net. A lot of back and forth
Daylon Groulx headed to the box for cross checking, sending the Attack on the penalty kill against at 5:55. The Bears were able kill the penalty and keep the lead.
The Attack headed to the powerplay with just over 5 minutes left in the period. Sarnia was able to kill the penalty.
With just over a minute and a half to go, Aidan Dudas secures the lead with a nice goal on a Sarnia mishandle at 18:27. Dudas' goal was assisted by Groulx and Carter Robertson.
Suzuki finds the empty net and brings the final score to 6-3 Bears!
Owen Sound Attack assistant captain Kevin Hancock earned first star honours for his 2 goals and 1 assist tonight while Owen Sound's captain Nick Suzuki earned the second star for his 2 goals and 2 assists in the contest. Sarnia Sting rookie Jacob Perreault earned the third star with his goal in the second period.
Mack Guzda stopped 25 shots on the evening, earning him the Hatten Home Hardware Hardest Working Player of the Game, voted by the fans!
At the end of three, Mark McDade Chestnut Park shots on goal were 31-28, in favour of Owen Sound.
The Attack are back in action tomorrow night at the Harry Lumley Bayshore when the Guelph Storm are in town for their third match up with the Attack, a 7:30PM puck drop.
