Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (March 15)- The Brahmas stole a game from the Corpus Christi Rayz in a 3-2 shootout for their second win in as many nights.
Rayz Justin Quenneville scored first on Brahmas goaltender David Cacciola at the 7:40 mark. Grant Jacobsen retaliated for Texas when he scored on the powerplay from Blair Manning and Scott Sheppard. Five minutes later Quenneville netted his second goal of the evening to put Corpus Christi up 2-1 going into the intermission.
Jacobsen matched a Quenneville goal again in the second to tie the game 2-2. Following the goal scoring it was the Cacciola and Jason Tapp show as the goaltenders each faced 45 shots Saturday.
The goalies proved to play at the top of their game as they not only led their teams to the extra period, but into the shootout. Cacciola's play dominated the Rayz offense as he stoned all four Rayz shootout attempts. It was goals from Jordan Cameron and Tyler Skworchinski that helped lead the Brahmas to victory, 3-2.
The Brahmas will return home tomorrow evening for their final regular season home game at the NYTEX Sports Centre for a 6:05 PM start against the Oklahoma City Blazers. For tickets to the special "Fan Appreciation Night" please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423 or log on to www.brahmas.com.
