Boomtown Trading Card Giveaway Starts Tonight

Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs have partnered with the Boomtown Casino / Hotel to provide a tremendous giveaway item for each of the Mudbugs last three home games of the 2007/2008 Central Hockey League regular season, beginning this evening as the Mississippi RiverKings visit the CenturyTel Center. The Mudbugs will be distributing strips of seven Mudbugs trading cards to the first 3,000 fans entering the doors this evening, Friday, March 21st and Saturday, March 22nd. Sponsored by the Boomtown Casino / Hotel and produced by Choice Sportscards, the high quality 28-card set features each Mudbugs player along with the Mudbugs coaching and hockey operations staff and Clawed.
"Boomtown is proud to continue our partnership with the Mudbugs and in helping provide an outstanding souvenir of the Mudbugs' tremendous season to their avid fans," said General Manager Barry Regula.
Additionally, a Mudbugs team autograph session has been scheduled for 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 23rd at Boomtown's Sundance Cantina restaurant. All fans are encouraged to meet the Mudbugs as they prepare for post-season play.
Tonight's first strip of seven cards features forwards Brett Smith, Mike Falk and Elias Godoy, along with defensemen Dale Lupul and Derek Miller, Clawed, and Athletic Trainer George Bullock. When the Texas Brahmas visit on Friday, March 21st, the seven card strip will include forwards Daniel Pegoraro, Karlis Zirnis, Neil Poulsen and Tyrel Lucas, joined by defensemen Jake Ortmeyer and Ryan Fairbarn and Equipment Manager Billy T. Welker.
Issued prior to the regular season finale on March 22nd against the Rocky Mountain Rage will be a strip containing goaltender John DeCaro, forwards Jason Campbell, Justin Aikins and Kevin Labatte as well as defenseman Matt York and Assistant Coach Trevor Buchanan, included with a Boomtown redemption card which can be used for another pair of great opportunities at the Boomtown Casino / Hotel. Fans taking the redemption card to Boomtown can collect the final seven card strip, which includes forwards Chris Brassard, Joe Ori and Kevin Cooper, defensemen Quade Lightbody and Jason Basile, goaltender Kenny Carroll and Head Coach Scott Muscutt. The redemption card can also be used to obtain a 2 for 1 discount meal at Boomtown's Cattleman's Buffet.
Tonight the Mudbugs will battle the rival Mississippi RiverKings for the 11th time this season. The season series is tied at five games apiece so far heading into this weekend's home-and-home series that starts tonight in Bossier City and concludes tomorrow in Southaven, MS with a 5:05 contest. The Mudbugs need one more point to clinch the number one seed in the Northern Conference and three points to lock up their second consecutive Governor's Cup CHL regular season championship. The RiverKings are fighting for a Northern Conference playoff spot, currently sitting outside the postseason in sixth place, but just a point behind Rocky Mountain and Youngstown entering tonight's games.
The puck drops at 7:05 pm at CenturyTel Center, and don't forget about five dollar balcony seats avaialbe for tonight's contest. Individual tickets for tonight's game can be purchased through Ticketmaster at 318-741-9700 and group seats are on sale through the Mudbugs office at 318-752-BUGS.
