Hounds Defeat Bucks 3-1

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - The Youngstown SteelHounds defeated the Laredo Bucks 3-1 on Saturday night to improve to 36-19-5 (70 points) and stay in the top five in the Northern Conference playoff picture.

Joel Irving scored his 24th goal of the season at 1:19 of the first period to give the Hounds a 1-0 lead. Mark Odut scored his 13th of the season at 12:43 to put the Hounds up 2-0 after the first period.

Laredo's lone goal came at 6:13 as Andrew Desjardins scored to make it 2-1 after two periods.

Jason Baird put the nail in the coffin as he scored at 1:37 of the third period to finish the scoring and give the Hounds a 3-1 win. Andy Franck made 25 saves on 26 shots in the win. The Hounds have tied a franchise record with their fifth consecutive home win. They are on an eight game point streak (7-0-1) and are 17-8-3 at home.

The Hounds and Bucks finish their series Sunday afternoon at 4:05. All fans will receive Rick Nash "Rick Bands" and are encouraged to bring their memorabilia as the Hounds will sign it after the game. All SteelHounds games are available on ESPN Radio 1240 and SteelHounds.com.
