Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends announced today that the team has agreed to a five-year lease extension to stay at the Frisco arena managed by the Dallas Stars.
"We're excited to extend our lease here with the Stars and City of Frisco," said Legends President/General Manager Malcolm Farmer. "This has been our home since year one and we look forward to continuing to grow here."
The Legends will be entering their ninth season of play with the 2018-19 season. With the current extension, the team will remain at the arena through the 2022-23 season with options through 2027-28. The Legends have remained atop the NBA G League in attendance for the past five years and set another record last season for average attendance.
"The Legends have a family-friendly, fan first atmosphere that is perfect for this area," said Dallas Stars President Brad Alberts. "We're thrilled to have them here for many years to come."
The arena has been home to major corporate conferences, concerts, circus shows, and more, but the Legends are currently the only sports team that calls it home.
"The Frisco community has been overwhelmingly supportive," said Farmer. "We definitely have the best fans in the League and we look forward to celebrating ten years with them next season and many more to come."
The Legends will host the Salt Lake City Stars in their home opener November 9th at 7:30pm. A limited number of tickets are still available, for more information call 214-469-0822 or visitwww.TexLegends.com.
