Ontario Clippers News Release

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario (0-1) fell short to the Oklahoma City Blue (2-0), 118-128, in the opening match of the team's second season.

The Clippers were seemingly within reach throughout the game, despite falling behind by double-digits on multiple occasions. After allowing an 11-point deficit with 8:58 to go in the second quarter, the team responded with a 22-10 run to go up 58-57 with just under four minutes before halftime. Unfortunately, their comeback efforts were stifled by the Blue, who retook the lead with 46 seconds left in the half and never looked back.

On assignment in Ontario, Jerome Robinson showed why he was drafted by the NBA-affiliate LA Clippers with the 13th overall pick by leading all scorers with 28 points and knocking down four three-pointers. Two-way player Johnathan Motley added a double-double with 25 points, on 12-16 shooting, and 11 rebounds.

A total of six players scored in double figures for the Clippers. Sindarius Thornwell, also on assignment from Los Angeles, put up 14 points in 29 minutes. Jamel Artis led the Clippers' bench efforts with 18 points on 8-13 shooting.

Oklahoma City dominated the paint 80-54, with 40 of their 49 made field goals coming up close. The Blue also produced more fast break points, scoring 29 to the Clippers' 13.

Dez Wells led all Blue scorers with 25 points on 9-12 shooting off the bench. KJ McDaniels paced the starters with 21 points and 8 rebounds.

The Clippers return to action on Friday, Nov. 9, against the Santa Cruz Warriors for their second home game of the season. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. Pacific, at Citizens' Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif.
