Texas Legends News Release

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (17-4) powered out 44 fourth-quarter points to take down the Memphis Hustle (14-17) 121-112 Friday night in Frisco.

After five lead changes in the first, the Legends tied it up with 10 seconds on the clock but were answered with an EJ Onu putback to enter the second down 26-28. The Hustle took their largest lead of the night (+6) midway through, but Texas went on a quick streak to tie it up again. Carlik Jones grabbed the final points at the line to edge the home team up 52-50 going into halftime.

The shooting heated up after the break, and while both teams clipped over 50%, the visiting Hustle came out on top. Texas had taken an 8-point lead at the 4-minute mark when David Stockton started what would be a 12-0 run for Memphis. The Legends opened the final quarter down by two but fired 79% to quickly pull away. James Banks III opened with a slam to set the tone, hitting six early points to lead Texas to a 10-0 start. By the halfway point, the Legends held a double-digit lead, and Olin Carter III and Jones combined for 25 points to finish off the fourth-quarter statement and extend their win streak.

Carter led the Legends with 31 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. Justin Jackson dominated the boards posting a double-double of 25 points, 10 rebounds, while Moses Wright tagged on 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Jones added 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists, and Banks rounded out the double-digits coming off the bench for 10 points, 2 blocks.

Ahmad Caver led all scorers with 32 points, 4 assists, and Ben Moore posted a 14-point, 14-rebound double-double.

The Legends head to Birmingham next to take on the Squadron Sunday at 5pm CT. Fans can catch all the action live at www.TexLegends.com.
