
Swarm Score Season-High in Victory over Nets

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, scored early and often in a 139-119 dismantling of the Long Island Nets (Brooklyn Nets affiliate) on Saturday at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum. The win is the third in a row for the Swarm and marks a season-sweep of the Nets with Greensboro taking all three games.
The Swarm (9-21) had duo of 30-point scorers in Arnoldas Kulboka and Kai Jones.
Kulboka set a new season-high with 35 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including hitting six 3-pointers. He also had five rebounds and a steal in 31 minutes. His 35 points was the most by a Swarm player in a game this season, surpassing JT Thor's 34 points on November 5, 2021. Jones was impactful on both ends, scoring a season-high 30 points (12-18 FG) and grabbing nine rebounds to go with three blocks, two assists and a steal in 35 minutes.
Greensboro jumped to a 10-point advantage after the first quarter, leading 47-37. The lead grew to a 80-61 edge for the home team at half. Kulboka was electric in the first 24 minutes of the game by scoring 27 of his points during that time. Overall as a team, the Swarm shot 64 percent in the first half.
The Swarm maintained a double-figure lead for the entirety of the second half. It was Jones who energized the crowd as he scored 23 of his points in the second half.
Other strong performances included Jarrell Brantley's 19 points, four rebounds and four assists in 23 minutes off the bench. In his first start of the season, Ikenna Ndugba had a season-high 14 points and seven rebounds in 34 minutes.
Long Island (16-14) had six players score at least 10 points. The Nets leading scorer was Jordan Bowden who had 23 points off the bench. Brandon Rachal (23 points) and Craig Randall II (21) were the two starters who scored 20-plus points. Day'Ron Sharpe had a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. David Duke Jr. had 13.
The Swarm complete their home schedule next week with two home games against the Maine Celtics (Boston Celtics affiliate) on March 29 and 31.
The regular season concludes on the road, at Raptors 905 (Toronto Raptors affiliate), on April 2.
