Prince George Cougars News Release

PRINCE GEORGE, BC - One of the most anticipated and popular annual events in Prince George is returning. The Prince George Cougars, in partnership with Northland Dodge, are excited to announce details for the annual Teddy & Toque Toss in support of the Salvation Army.

The Northland Dodge Teddy & Toque Toss is on Saturday, Dec. 11th, against the Kamloops Blazers. The Cougars highly encourage everyone to purchase tickets in advance online, or early on game day, to avoid missing the start of the game.

"With last year's Teddy & Toque toss being cancelled as a result of the pandemic, needless to say we are looking forward to seeing our generous fans having a blast at this annual tradition, but also seeing a huge number of items being donated to the Salvation Army and families in need," commented Cougars' Vice President, Business Andy Beesley.

All fans who attend the game are asked to bring a bagged new or gently used stuffed toy and or warm winter clothes (coats, toques, socks, blankets, and mittens) to the game. When the Cougars score their first goal, you are invited to throw your bagged donations onto the ice. All items will be distributed to people in need over the holidays through the Salvation Army in Prince George.

"The Salvation Army Prince George celebrates the longstanding partnership with the Prince George Cougars," said Salvation Army Communities Ministries Director, Roy Law. "We are a community funded charity that brings hope to some of the most vulnerable people in the community; but we cannot do it alone. Thank you to the Cougars for Teaming Up For The Community with The Salvation Army."

Tickets for the Northland Dodge Teddy & Toque Toss start at just $16 and are available at www.ticketsnorth.ca

All fans attending will need to abide by the BC Provincial Health Authority and the Western Hockey League's COVID-19 health and safety requirements which includes masks, double vaccination and their BC vaccine card.
