August 31, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
South Carolina Stingrays News Release
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that Taylor Lee has been asked to participate in the Honorary Commanders Program at the Charleston Air Force Base. The Honorary Commanders Program is designed to encourage an exchange of ideas, experiences and friendship between key members of the local civilian community and the Charleston military community. The program provides a unique opportunity for members of the Charleston area to shadow commanders of squadrons and tenant units at Charleston Air Force Base.
"I am honored to be a part of this exciting program," said Lee. "The Stingrays have had a great relationship with the military in our community for years. This experience will help us gain a better appreciation for the US Air Force, and the Charleston Air Force Base in particular."
The year long program scheduled for the Honorary Commanders gives each individual special access to the base itself and will include, among other things, a flight on a C-17.
The Stingrays will drop the puck against the Charlotte Checkers on October 23rd to open their home schedule. The Rays have teamed up with the South Carolina Education Lottery to give three lucky fans in attendance on opening night 1,000 chances at winning a minimum of 10 million dollars. Fans who purchase season ticket packages for as little as $55.50 will be given even more chances to win. For more information on season, group or fundraiser packs for that night or any other home date, fans can contact the Stingrays office at 744-2248.
