IceGators Announce Promotional Plans

Lafayette, LA – The promotional schedule for the Louisiana IceGators 10th anniversary season was announced by the team today. For the first time in team history every home game will have a theme night or a special promotional give away.

While all 36 home games have something special planned, there are some nights that will stand out because of the uniqueness of the promotion. For NASCAR Night on January 14, 2005, the IceGators will be bringing in Dale Earnhardt Jr's #8 racing car for the night. Fans will have a firsthand chance to check out one of the fastest cars in NASCAR. On February 18, 2005, the IceGators welcome the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels to the Cajundome for an appearance as the Gators host the Texas Wildcatters. HBK will be available for picture and autographs for his numerous fans. Already announced special events include, Opening Night on November 6, 2004, Reunion Week with a golf tournament on November 10, a "Welcome Home" Banquet on November 11 and "Reunion Night" on November 12 when the Gators host Mississippi. 10th Anniversary Jersey unveiling and Youth Jersey night will be on November 26, 2004 and UL Night takes place on February 25, 2005. The first Bobble Head doll giveaway will be on November 20, 2004 when the IceGators salute "Alphonse the Alligator" by giving him the honor of the first Bobble Head in team history.

"We believe this promotional schedule has something to appeal to everyone whether they are an avid hockey fan or not," said Bruce LeVine, the IceGators Vice President of Communications. "Our promotions and giveaways should be a strong incentive to see those games and we still have our special value nights of Cheap Date Wednesday and Sunday is Family Fun Day. The organization is very excited about what is going to happen in our 10th anniversary season."
