Columbia Inferno News Release

COLUMBIA, SC (August 31, 2004) - The Columbia Inferno announce the signing of forward Bryson Busniuk for the 2004-2005 season. Busniuk joins teammates Sean Owens, Mike Roemensky, Aaron Smith, Walker McDonald, Robin Carruthers, Greg Amadio and Matt Ulwelling as the eighth player signed by the Inferno this season.

The 24-year-old, 6'2 and 190 lbs. native of Thunder Bay, Ontario had 10 goals, 12 assists and 41 penalty minutes in 38 games in 2003-04 playing for the Greensboro Generals of the ECHL. He also spent time with the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League playing 11 games and tallied one assist with five penalty minutes.

"Whenever we played Greensboro last season Bryson was always one of their more consistent players. He played with a great deal of poise during the course of his first season," said Head Coach Scott White. "I look for him to take that next step and take a larger role on and off the ice here in Columbia."

Busniuk spent four years with the University of Vermont from 1999-2003. He recorded 29 goals, 43 assists and 82 penalty minutes in 133 games during his college years.

The Inferno open the 2004-2005 season on Friday, October 22nd at 7:30pm hosting the South Carolina Stingrays. Season tickets, partial season packages and group tickets are now available by calling 256-7825.
