Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Las Vegas, NV – The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today the signing of forwards Chris Stanley and Dan Tudin for the 2004-05 season.

"Both players are capable of playing at a higher level. Chris was the Canadian College Player of the Year. He's a big strong centerman and we hope he can come in and contribute right away as a rookie," said Wranglers Head Coach / General Manager Glen Gulutzan. "Dan came highly recommended from Columbus. He is a character guy who works hard every night. He will bring a lot of intensity and skill to our lineup."

Stanley recently capped off his four-year career at Dalhousie University by winning CIU player-of-the-year honors. Stanley received the Senator Joseph A. Sullivan Trophy, presented annually to Canada's most outstanding collegiate player. Stanley, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound center led the entire CIS in scoring with 48 points, including 18 goals, in 28 regular-season games. Stanley enjoyed an extraordinary university career that includes CIS all-rookie team honors in 2000-01, back-to-back Atlantic University Sport MVP awards, as well as consecutive all-Canadian selections. Stanley was a four-time CIS Academic All-Canadian. Stanley was also named this year's Dr. Bill Godfrey Award winner. The Godfrey Award is presented annually to the AUHC athlete who best demonstrates the spirit of intercollegiate hockey by his leadership both on and off the ice. The Parry Sound, ONT native served as Captain of the Tigers for three seasons. Prior to joining Dalhousie, Stanley was a member of the 1998-99 OHL Champion Belleville Bulls. Stanley was selected in the fourth-round (#97 overall) of the NHL's 1997 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks.

"I'm extremely excited to come to Las Vegas and play in the great atmosphere at the Orleans Arena," said Stanley. "It's a great organization and I have developed a wonderful relationship with Coach Gulutzan over the last eight months, the opportunity to play with Dan Tudin again was something I didn't want to pass up."

Tudin comes to Las Vegas after spending his rookie season in Columbus of the ECHL. The 26-year old posted 46 points (18G-28A) in 66 games while adding 57 penalty minutes. Tudin led the Cottonmouths with a +18 rating last season and his 46 points was second best on the team. The Ottawa, ONT native played four seasons at Dalhousie University prior to turning pro. Tudin was Chris Stanley's linemate at Dalhousie for three seasons. At Dalhousie, the left wing scored 38 goals and 112 points in 106 games. Tudin also suited up for the Ottawa 67s, playing in 239 games and scoring 62 goals and 140 points from 1995-99. The 6-foot, 200-pound winger played a key role in the 67s Memorial Cup win in 1999.

"I'm very excited to be coming to such a class organization," said Tudin. "I think it will be great to be in a city with such great fan support."

The new signings bring the Wranglers total roster to seven signed players for the 2004-05 season.
