Taylor Breaks All-Time Hits Mark

With three hits in his first four at-bats on Monday, Lexington Legends first baseman Eric Taylor broke former Legend standout Tommy Whiteman's record of career hits with his 231st hit as a Legend. The Legends' first baseman has now 123 hits on the season to add to his 108 hits during the 2007 season for Lexington. Tommy Whiteman had the previous mark for most hits as a Legend with 230 during his two-year stint in Lexington.

In addition to being the Legends all-time career hits leader, Eric also leads all South Atlantic League first baseman with a .993 fielding percentage and leads the team in games played with 132. Taylor will end his Legends career on the leader-board of several important offensive categories. The first baseman ranks second in games played (242), first in at-bats (888+), second in runs scored (126), fifth in doubles (43), third in RBI (110) and second in walks (92). Taylor has even added speed to his game this season by leading South Atlantic League first baseman with 27 stolen bases. The 27 steals rank third in the Houston Astros farm system.
