Rome Emperors News Release
Rome, GA - The Rome Braves were defeated by the Columbus Catfish 5-2 Monday afternoon in front of a crowd of 2,966 fans.
Rome got all their runs in the first inning. Cole Miles reached on a walk and advanced to third on a David Berres double. Miles scored and Berres got to third on a Luis Sumoza ground out. Cody Johnson got a base hit to score Berres for the 2-0 Braves lead.
In the second, Columbus scored a run on a Quinn Stewart solo blast (8) making the score 2-1. The Catfish took the lead in the fourth inning on a Henry Wrigley three run homer (7) for the 5-2 final score. Jason Ragan (8-9) gets the win for Columbus while Edgar Osuna (10-5) is tagged for the loss for Rome.
