Tavares and Vyse Named All-Star Reserves

BUFFALO, NY (February 19, 2009) --- The National Lacrosse League announced today that two more Buffalo Bandits will participate in the 2009 All-Star Game on March 7 in Denver, CO.

John Tavares and Roger Vyse were named as reserves for the East Division, joining starters Mark Steenhuis, Chris White and Ken Montour.

This is the sixth-straight appearance for Tavares. The most prolific scorer in NLL history is currently second on the Bandits in scoring with 36 points (16+20). Tavares leads the NLL with three game winning goals and is third in the league with eight power play goals. He enters this year's game tied as the all-time leader with 25 All-Star Game points (16+9). He is also tied with fellow teammate and All-Star Mark Steenhuis with 16 All-Star Game goals.

This is the first time in Vyse's career he has been named to the All-Star Game. He currently is tied with Tavares for sixth in the NLL with 16 goals, and has 24 points (16+8) on the year. He is also among the NLL shooting percentage leaders with a .390 success rate. Vyse set a new career high with six goals and eight points against Toronto last week.

The Bandits next home game is on February 28 at 7:30 p.m. against the Minnesota Swarm.
