Beloit Sky Carp News Release
Michael Tarsi and the Snappers rolled in game one of the doubleheader against the Burlington Bees, winning by a final of 8-0. Tarsi pitched six innings of two-hit, scoreless baseball to pick up his second win of the season.
Beloit got things rollin' with a run in the bottom of the first inning. Jair Fernandez delivered an RBI-single to left, scoring Joe Benson, who earlier walked, from second base. Benson's run put the Snappers ahead early, 1-0.
Garrett Olson pushed Beloit's lead to 2-0 on an RBI-ground out to second base in the bottom of the third. Olson's ground out allowed Ben Revere, who earlier doubled, to score.
The fourth inning proved to be the big one for the Snaps, as they piled on another three runs. Ben Revere cracked the big hit for Beloit, smashing a two-run single up the middle off Burlington's Danny Duffy. The three runs put the Snaps ahead 5-0 after four innings.
Three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning sealed the deal for the Snappers, as they went on to win by a final of 8-0.
Bradley Tippett pitched the final inning of the game, allowing just one hit while striking out one Bee.
Ozzie Lewis and Ramon Santana each had two hits for the Snappers who improved to 26-22 on the season. Ben Revere went 3 for 4 with two runs and three RBIs.
