LAST TIME: The Tarpons tallied 13 more hits en route to a 5-2 win to take a 3-0 lead in the four-game series over the Marauders on Saturday at LECOM Park...Angel Aguilar (1-for-4, HR, RBI, R) homered in the 2nd (his 7th HR and second of the series) and Diego Castillo (2-for-5, 2RBI) added a two-out, two-run single later in the inning...RHP Albert Abreu returned from the disabled list and held Bradenton to 2ER in 4.0IP (5H, 1BB, 4K, HB, WP, 62P/41S)...Dom Thompson-William (2-for-5, HR, 2RBI, R) added an RBI single in the 7th before smashing a solo homer in the 9th (his 16th HR and 11th with Tampa)...RHP Garrett Whitlock (W, 5-3) retired 15-of-18 batters faced in a piggyback appearance, logggin a scoreless 5.0IP (1H, 1BB, 8K, HB, 70P/44S)...The Tarpons improved to 6-0 at LECOM Park and 10-2 in the season-series over the Marauders...Sunday's finale was suspended (rain) after a scoreless top of the 1st and is scheduled to be continued on August 31st.

RUTA'S RAKING: On Friday, Ben Ruta logged his first-career four-hit game and tallied a season-high 4RBI, giving him 7RBI in the series. The 23-year-old is batting .378 (34-for-90) with 18RBI and 14 runs scored over his last 24 games.

LET'S GO STREAKING: Dom Thompson-Williams extended his hitting streak to nine games with a 7th-inning RBI single on Saturday. Over that span, the 23-year-old is batting .394 (13-for-33) with 11 runs scored. DTW is batting .350 (14-for-40) with 3HR, 8RBI and 7BB in August (11 games).

VS. PALM BEACH: Tonight will be the fifth of eight games scheduled between the Tampa Tarpons and Palm Beach Cardinals. Tampa leads the season-series, 3-1. In four games against the Cardinals, Estevan Florial is batting .438 (7-for-16) with 1R, 6 RBI and 4BB. Dom Thompson-Williams is batting .389 (7-for-18) with 2R, 1 double and 1RBI in four games against Palm Beach.

1,000 K CLUB: Last week, the Tarpons' pitching staff became the first to reach 1,000 strikeouts in the Florida State League. Tampa leads the league in strikeouts, totaling 1,110K entering today. That is 101K more than the team ranked second (Clearwater - 1,009). Tampa is averaging 9.33K-per-game and is on pace for 1,306K, which would crush its own FSL single-season strikeout record set last season with 1,215K.

STRIKEOUTS FOR A CAUSE: The Tarpons have partnered with the American Cancer Society. Throughout the month of August, each time a strikeout is recorded by a Tampa pitcher, money will be raised for cancer research. The Tarpons are asking fans to donate $1.00 for every time a Tampa pitcher strikes out an opposing batter in the 31 games scheduled for August. BABY BOMBERS: The Tarpons currently lead the league with 92 home runs. No other team has more than 87.

NO-HITTER HISTORY: On Tuesday, RHP Deivi Garcia (7.0IP) and RHP Christian Morris (1.0IP) combined for an eight-inning no-hitter in a 1-0 loss to the Clearwater Threshers in Game 2 of a doubleheader. It was the first time a no-hitter was thrown in a loss in the Florida State League since August 23, 1992, when RHP Scott Bakkum (Winter Haven) lost to LHP Andy Carter (Clearwater) in a double no-hitter. It was also Tampa's first no-hitter since RHP Jose Ramirez (6.0IP) and RHP Branden Pinder (1.0IP) combined for a seven-inning no-hitter vs. St. Lucie on July 12, 2012.

FOR STARTERS: RHP Rony Garcia (0-3, 3.54) will make his sixth start with Tampa. Last time out, issued a career-high 5BB in 5.0IP (3H, 2ER, 5K, 90P/48S) and took the loss vs. Clearwater on 8/2...Began the season with the RiverDogs, going 3-4 with a 4.18 ERA (71.IP, 73H, 44R/33ER, 13BB, 62S, 5HR, 6HB) in 14 starts.

VS. PALM BEACH: Garcia faced the Cardinals on 7/26 in Tampa and took a no-decision (5.1IP, 2H, 1ER, 3BB, 6K, WP, 94P/60S).

2017: Combined at Rookie-level Pulaski and Single-A Charleston to go 2-3 with a 2.50 ERA (75.2IP, 63H, 29R/21ER, 17BB, 56K, 4HR) in 13 starts...opponents hit .225 (63-for-280)...allowed 3ER-or-fewer in each of his 13 starts...started the season with Pulaski, posting a 3.97 ERA (11.1IP, 11H, 7R/5ER, 2BB, 11K, 1HR) in two starts...was promoted to Charleston on 7/5 and went 2-3 with a 2.24 ERA (64.1IP, 53H, 22R/16ER, 15BB, 45K, 3HR) in 11 starts.
