TACOMA, WASH. - Tacoma Defiance (5-4-6, 21 points) travels to San Diego Loyal SC (7-7-3, 24 points) Saturday evening at Torero Stadium (7:30 p.m. PT / ESPN+), looking for its first win on the road this year. It is the third matchup between the two sides this season, with Tacoma emerging victorious 3-1 on May 13, and the divisional opponents drawing on July 29 by a score of 1-1. Both games took place at Cheney Stadium.

San Diego sits one place above Tacoma in the Pacific Division standings. A win would put Defiance level on points with San Diego, with Tacoma currently holding a +2 advantage on goal difference in head-to-head matches, the next tie-breaking criteria in USL Championship standings after head-to-head points.

Following its match on Saturday, Tacoma will continue its road stretch against Southern Californian opponents as it takes on Orange County FC on August 18 (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+).
