Oakland Roots Latest News:

Oakland Roots are set to face off against LA Galaxy II for the third time this season. In the teams first matchup, Roots came away with their first and only win of the season to date but fell in the second meeting. Having had some success against LA this season, Roots look to finally get their second win.

In Oakland's most recent match, the team tied Sacramento Republic for the third time this season. Despite a strong second half offensive spark from new signing Quincy Amarikwa and forward Jeremy Bokila, the two were unable to find the breakthrough goal. As the chemistry of the forward line starts to come together after several new signings, the offense should start to find their rhythm and play as a cohesive unit.

This match marks the first time this season Roots are playing at Merritt College in the Oakland Hills. The game was moved out of Laney College due to a longer than anticipated installation time for the new playing surface. The club will be celebrating Zoo Day at the match as Oakland Zoo will be activating at Merritt College with some special activities.

About LA Galaxy II:

A Galaxy comes to Oakland in the middle of the pacific division table. With the team sitting just shy of a playoff berth, LA is looking for points to move into the top four. Their most recent contest ended in a win against Orange County SC last Saturday.
