June 17, 2021 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Seattle Sounders FC News Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Tacoma Defiance (2-3-1, 7 points) fell 4-2 to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (2-2-2, 8 points), ending its month-long road stretch.
Tacoma's Marlon Vargas opened the scoring in the 11th minute when he received a pass from Azriel Gonzalez and finished the ball into the bottom right corner of the net. Colorado tied it up in the 32nd minute when Michee Ngalina was able to chip keeper Spencer Richey for his first goal of the match. Switchbacks FC then added goals in the 36th and 80th minutes to go up 3-1 before Tacoma got one back in the 85th minute courtesy of Alec Díaz, who took a nifty touch to control the ball before shooting it into the back of the net. However, Ngalina struck again in the dying seconds of the match to secure the home side's 4-2 win.
Wade Webber's side returns home next Wednesday, June 23 against Real Monarchs (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+).
