
Tacoma Earns Series Split with Saturday Win

Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Oklahoma City RedHawks (16-19) rallied from an 8-4 deficit to tie the game in the eighth inning, before the Tacoma Rainiers (14-22) scored an unearned run in the tenth inning for a 9-8 win before 9,105 Friday night at RedHawks Field at Bricktown.
Tacoma reliever Denny Bautista (1-2) blew his fourth save by allowing two runs, one earned, in the eighth inning and held off a ninth inning charge before picking up the winning decision. Fernando Rodriguez (2-3) allowed an unearned run in the tenth inning for the loss. Josh Lueke (3) saved the game with a scoreless tenth inning.
The teams traded early runs, beginning in the first inning. Tacoma's Mike Carp belted a three-run home run in the top of the first inning for a 3-0 Rainiers lead. Anderson Hernandez hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the inning, cutting the Tacoma lead to 3-1.
The RedHawks tied the game in the second inning when Oswaldo Navarro belted a second inning home run, forcing a 3-3 deadlock. Tacoma jumped ahead again in the top of the third inning. Luis Jimenez doubled in a run before Alex Liddi hit a two-run home run for a 6-3 Tacoma lead.
The RedHawks shaved the deficit to 6-4 in the fourth inning on a Navarro RBI double before another home run from Carp in the fifth inning, this time a solo blast, opened a 7-4 Tacoma lead. The Rainiers added a seventh inning run on a Ryan Langerhans RBI double, extending the lead to 8-4.
Oklahoma City started a rally in the last of the seventh inning. Brian Dopirak and Navarro collected back-to-back RBI two-out singles, cutting the Tacoma lead to 8-6. In the eighth inning Brandon Barnes tripled in a run before Drew Locke singled in Barnes to tie the game 8-8.
In the tenth inning Johan Limonta led off with a walk, moved to second on an infield single and to third on an errant throw on the play. Limonta later scored on a Dustin Ackley fielder's choice for a 9-8 lead.
