TACOMA, WASH. - Tacoma Defiance (9-13-6, 33 points) fell 1-0 to Las Vegas Lights FC (6-20-3, 21 points) at Cheney Stadium Wednesday evening.

Las Vegas recorded the lone goal of the match early into the second half when a streaking Bruce El-Mesmari received a header from Cal Jennings that led to a one-on-one with Defiance goalkeeper Spencer Richey that El-Mesmari was able to convert to secure the 1-0 victory.

Despite never finding the back of the net, Tacoma had its chances. Notably, Alec Díaz had a pair of chipped efforts that he couldn't convert in the second half to keep Defiance from finding the breakthrough goal.

With the result, Tacoma sits in seventh place in the Pacific Division standings, three points shy of a playoff spot with four matches left to play.

Wade Webber's side hits the road as it takes on Sacramento Republic FC on Sunday, October 17 (2:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+).
