Kansas City Monarchs News Release

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones have announced the signing of Eric Schaler, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound right-handed pitcher from Littleton, Colo.

The Cincinnati Reds selected Schaler in the 31st round of the 2006 MLB Amateur Draft out of Dallas Baptist University. (The New York Yankees picked him in the 48th round in 2003 out of high school.) Schaler has pitched for both the Reds and Colorado Rockies organizations, before playing Independent baseball.

Schaler spent the early part of the 2012 season with the Abilene (Texas) Prairie Dogs of the North American Baseball League, pitching 2 2/3 innings in three games.

Schaler, who will wear number 15, is scheduled to be in uniform tonight for the T-Bones as they take on the Wichita Wingnuts in the second game of a three-game set at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

To make room for Schaler, the T-Bones placed infielder Aric Weinberg on Irrevocable Waivers for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release.
