Lemurs Win in Walk-Off Fashion

Laredo, TX - Philip Incaviglia, nephew of Laredo Lemurs (9-12) manager Pete Incaviglia, drove home the winning run in the bottom of the eleventh in his first professional game, to help the Lemurs pull out the extra inning win 5-4 over the Amarillo Sox (13-9).

The extra inning game was set up by the Amarillo Sox in the top of the ninth as Alberto Espinosa started things off with a double down the left field line. Garrett Rau followed with a sac bunt to move Espinosa to third, and with Harrison Kain at the plate, relief pitcher Mike Benacka threw a wild pitch that went to the backstop and Espinosa hustled home to tie the score at four.

Throughout the game the Lemurs would piece together small rallies score no more than one run in each inning that they scored.

The Lemurs saw other new addition chip in for the victory as Javier Brito, who just joined the team today from El Paso, went two for five with a run scored and a RBI. Palmer Karr Jr. joined the team from El Paso yesterday, scored three runs, tripled, and added two singles. And of course, Philip Incaviglia who not only drove in the winning run in the eleventh, but he also got a hit in his first professional at bat in the bottom of the third.

Stephen Kahn (1-1) earned the win for the Lemurs as he pitched a three up, three down inning in the top of the eleventh. Trent Lare (1-3) took the loss for the Sox giving up two runs in the bottom of the eleventh.

The Laredo Lemurs are home to take on the Amarillo Sox tomorrow night at Uni-Trade Stadium. The Famous Chicken will be in town to entertain the fans throughout the game.
