Winnipeg 5, Fargo-Moorhead 2

The Winnipeg Goldeyes capitalized on some early mistakes by the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks to take the lead in the first inning as they went on to win 5-2. 2B/SS Price Kendall opened the game by reaching on an error and scored the first run of the game two batters later as 1B Jon Weber singled. CF Chris Roberson scored from third in the next at bat as 2B/3B Yurendell de Caster bounced into a double play. Weber finished the day 3-for-5 with an RBI. The Goldeyes tacked on three insurance runs in the sixth which came in handy as the RedHawks put together a charge in the ninth. P Andrew Walker twirled a gem as he earned the win with 8.1 innings of six-hit, two-run ball. Both of those runs came in the ninth inning as he gave up a solo homerun to DH Ryan Delgado and a single to 1B Marcos Rodriquez who scored after Walker was removed from the game.

Sioux Falls 14, St. Paul 5

The Sioux Falls Pheasant exploded for 20 hits and 14 runs as they beat the St. Paul Saints 14-5. The Pheasants kick started the offense with a pair of two-run homeruns in the first inning. The first dinger came from SS Cory Morales and three batters later RF Christian Guerrero followed suit. Morales went 3-for-6 on the night with a team-high three RBI. Sioux Falls 3B Trevor Lawhorn led with a game-high four hits in five at bats with three runs and a pair of RBI. Saints CF Jim Rapoport had an impressive day at the plate with a homerun and a triple on his way to a 3-for-3 night. The winning pitcher for Sioux Falls was P Alan DeRatt for his 6.1 innings in which he allowed five runs on nine hits.

Wichita 6, Kansas City 5

Wichita Wingnut C Taylor Freeman turned a two-run deficit into a one-run lead with one swing of the bat in the ninth inning as Wichita downed Kansas City 6-5. CF Mitch Einertson started the top of the ninth drawing a walk on four pitches. RF David Peralta singled to move Einertson to third and then Peralta stole second to put the tying run in scoring position. Freeman took the first pitch and then turned on the 1-0 delivery to give the Wingnuts their first lead of the game. It was his second homerun of the season and his three RBI were a team-high. For the T-Bones, DH Brandon Jones was 2-for-4 with three RBI and LF Justin Bass was 3-for-4 with an RBI, a pair of runs and a stolen base. P Jared Simon earned the win for taking care of the seventh and eighth innings and P Matt Nevarez got the save for his work in the ninth.

Sioux City 6, Lincoln 2

After giving up a run in the first inning Sioux City Explorers P Richard Salazar settled down to guide the Explorers to a 6-2 win over the Lincoln Saltdogs. That first inning run was the only run he allowed over 8.0 innings. He scattered nine hits while striking out three and walking two. Sioux City took the lead in the fourth inning when 3B Wally Backman scored as CF Brandon Newton grounded into a fielder's choice. For the Explorers SS Ryan Priddy had a team-high two RBI going 1-for-3. Saltdogs SS Joe Spiers and CF Mike Provencher, Lincoln's one and two hitters in the order, each had three hits in the ball game. Provencher had one of the Saltdogs' two RBI when he doubled home 2B Jared McDonald with two outs in the bottom of the ninth.

Gary SouthShore 20, Newark 11

The Gary SouthShore RailCats took an old fashioned shootout from the Newark Bear in inter-league play as they won 20-11. The two teams combined for 41 hits in the contest and the RailCats put up three or more runs in five different innings. Gary SouthShore LF Adam Klein racked up four RBI and four runs on a 3-for-5 night at the plate. 3B Rico Washington also had four RBI on three hits in four at bats. For Newarkd both C Billy Alvino and SS Alex Bardeguez picked up four hits in the contest. The win went to Chuck Lukanen for his 2.l innings of relief despite giving up three runs and three hits.

Amarillo 6, Laredo 3

After four scoreless innings the Amarillo Sox opened up the game with two runs in the fifth inning and never trailed as they beat the Laredo Lemurs 6-3. RF Matthew Tucker and 1B Garret Rau registered back-to-back hits in the fifth to push home a pair of runs and give the Sox the first lead of the game. The Lemurs chipped away with a run in the sixth but the Sox answered with three more runs in the seventh. Sox SS Jason White led the team with three hits in five at bats while also pitching in an RBI. CF Harrison Kain was the only player in the game to have more than one RBI as he put up a pair. For Laredo, 1B Stephen Pearson was solid at the plate going 4-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI. Chuck Lofgren picked up the win for 6.0 innings of one-run ball.

Grande Prairie 17, El Paso 3

The Grand Prairie AirHogs put the hammer down and didn't let up on the El Paso Diablos as they won 17-3. Eight of the nine AirHog batters had at least one hit in the contest and LF Kenny Held, the only player not to have a hit, scored twice. The left side of the AirHog infield was dangerous at the plate as 3B Greg Porter and SS Yasutsugu Nishimoto each had four hits. RF Trent Lockwood was 3-for-4 with his fourth homerun of the season. P Josh Strawn pitched a complete game for the AirHogs and earned the win as he allowed three runs on eight hits. Strawn retired seven Diablos with a strikeout.
