Kansas City Monarchs News Release
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones have announced the signing of Bridger Hunt, a 6-foot, 175-pound infielder from Oviedo, Fla.
The Los Angeles Dodgers selected Hunt in the ninth round of the 2006 MLB Amateur Draft out of the University of Central Missouri. Hunt spent parts of four seasons in the Dodgers' organization, reaching high-A with Inland Empire in 2007.
In 2011, Hunt split time with Southern Maryland of the Independent Atlantic League, and Rockland of the Cam-Am League. Most recently this season, Hunt played for fellow American Association club Grand Prairie. Overall during his professional career, Hunt has a .276 batting average with 395 hits, 61 doubles, 144 RBIs and 51 stolen bases. Interestingly, Hunt has played eight defensive positions during his pro career. The only position Hunt has not played has been catcher.
Hunt, who makes his home in Ellijay, Ga., is scheduled to be in the starting lineup at second base on Friday night for the T-Bones as they open a three-game series against in-state rival Wichita at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
To make room for Hunt, the T-Bones announced that pitcher Matt Foust cleared waivers and is now a free agent.
