KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones have announced the signing of Norberto Susini, a 5-foot-11, 200-pound catcher from New York, NY.

Susini, who played at Odessa College (Texas), started his professional career in the Seattle Mariners organization in 2011. He spent the 2012 season with three different Independent teams: Bridgeport (Atlantic League), Newark (Can-Am) and Normal (Frontier). Susini has a .198 batting average with 22 hits in 47 professional games.

"He can play all infield positions in addition to catcher, so he gives us some versatility," said T-Bones manager Kenny Hook. "He spent time in the Atlantic League as a back-up catcher last year, so I have a good confidence level that that'll help him in this league."

Susini is expected to be in uniform and wearing number 9 tonight when the T-Bones take on Gary SouthShore at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.

To make room for Susini, the T-Bones placed Brandon Pearl on Irrevocable Waivers for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release.
