Giammanco Pitches Lemurs to 9-0

LAREDO, TX - The Laredo Lemurs starting pitcher Leonard Giammanco holds the Fargo Moorhead RedHawks to one run in his second start of the season, as the Lemurs win 6-2 and move to 9-0 on the year.
Giammanco pitched great through the first three innings, digging himself out of trouble in the second, as the RedHawks left the bases load. After that Giammanco turned in two, three up and three down innings. For the day Giammanco went six complete, giving up one run, on five hits, with three walks, and a strikeout mixed in.
At the plate the Lemurs struck for three runs in the fourth against Fargo starter Paul Burnside. The inning started off with a Jon Gaston double, followed by a Brian Peterson single to drive in Gaston. Marcos Rodriguez singled to keep the inning going, then Garrett Rau double to drive in Peterson. Jimmy Mojica would top off the inning with a sac-fly to center to give the Lemurs a 3-1 lead.
The Lemurs would score one in the fifth and two in the seventh. Overall for the night the Lemurs would see Jimmy Mojica grab two hits, driving in three runs. Mike Sheridan went three for five and Brian Peterson went two for five, with three runs, and a RBI. Marcoros Rodriguez pitched in with a three hit day, scoring two runs.
The Lemurs start the year 9-0 and have a chance to sweep the Fargo Moorhead RedHawks for the second time in two week span.
All game times at home will be at 7:30pm with the exception of Wednesday, May 22nd at 10:00am and the game on Sunday, June 2nd which will start at 3:16pm.
