
T-Bones Shutout 'Dogs to Stop Streak

LINCOLN -- Blake Holovach and two other Kansas City T-Bones (27-19) pitchers combined to shutout the Saltdogs (21-30) 7-0 in front of 2,576 fans at Haymarket Park Wednesday night, snapping Lincoln's six-game win streak.
Holovach (5-0) pitched six scoreless, allowing three hits to earn the win. Luis Chirinos (3-5) was roughed up for seven runs in 3 1/3 innings to suffer the loss.
Kansas City jumped on the 'Dogs early, plating two runs in the first, another in the second and two more in both the third and fourth innings.
Brian Joynt went 0-for-3 to end his 10-game hit streak.
Moises Melendez pitched 3 2/3 innings of scoreless middle relief to keep the Saltdogs within striking distance.
Game two of the four-game series is Thursday night at 6:35 p.m. LHP Ryan Strufing (0-0, 0.00) is scheduled to face RHP Bobby Doran (7-1, 5.13). It's a #ThirstyThursday featuring $1 beer specials and Pepsi products on Boots, Hats and Chaps Night. Radio coverage begins at 6:05 p.m. on KFOR.
