Kent, WA - The Seattle Thunderbirds defeated the Vancouver Giants 5-3 on Tuesday night at the ShoWare Centre. The loss ended Vancouver's two game winning streak. Brennan Menell, Alec Baer and Tyler Benson had the Giants' goals while Ryan Kubic turned aside 25 of 30 Seattle shots in the loss.

Ethan Bear opened the scoring for Seattle in the first period, beating Kubic with a long slap shot from the right point. Vancouver equalized before the end of the frame when Menell netted his seventh goal of the season with a point shot on a power play.

The G-Men went ahead 2-1 early in the second period when Baer was sprung down the left wing by Radovan Bondra and ripped a wrist shot into the top shelf past Seattle goaltender Logan Flodell. However, Seattle scored twice before the end of the stanza, getting goals from Cavin Leth and Scott Eansor, to take a 3-2 lead into the second intermission.

Benson tied the game for the Giants in the third period, scoring with a hard wrist shot off the right wing in just his second game back in the lineup, but the T-Birds took the lead again just over a minute later when Turner Ottenbreit beat Kubic on the short side from the left circle for the eventual game winning goal. Jerret Smith added an insurance marker later in the period to lock up the two points for Seattle.

The Giants will be back in action on Friday when they host the Kelowna Rockets at the Pacific Coliseum. The puck drops at 7:30pm. For tickets, go to TicketLeader.ca or call 604.4.GIANTS (604.444.2687).
