T-Bird Fans Can Follow Picks in Bantam Draft on Twitter

Kent, April 29, 2009 - The Seattle Thunderbirds are excited to announce that their fans will be able to follow the team's selections in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft on the social networking website Twitter.
The WHL Bantam Draft is on Thursday, April 30, in Edmonton, Alberta. The draft starts at 7:15am Seattle time. The T-Birds have the 12th pick in the first round of the draft.
Twitter is a real-time short messaging service that works over multiple networks and devices. Account holders follow the sources most relevant to them and access information via Twitter as it happens - from breaking news to updates from friends. The T-Birds encourage fans to create an account on Twitter at www.twitter.com. By creating an account fans will be able to follow who the T-Birds select in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft as it happens.
Fans can also set up their account to receive text messages, called "tweets", to their cell phone or personal handheld device every time the T-Birds post an update on their Twitter account.
"Twitter will be a great way for our fans to keep in touch with the team," said T-Birds Director of Public Relations Ian Henry. "With all the selections the team will make in the Bantam Draft, we feel this is a great time to launch the Twitter site - Seattle Tbirds. This will also be a great marketing tool for the team as we anticipate maximizing the capabilities of Twitter to promote the team to fans."
The T-Birds will use their Twitter account, named Seattle Tbirds, in the future to inform fans of roster moves, promotions, ticket specials, team appearances, new ShoWare Center events, community relations initiatives and game results.
Fans can also follow the T-Birds Twitter feed by clicking on the T-Birds Twitter link in the Fan Zone menu on the T-Birds website.
