
Ennis, Bortolussi and Linden Capture 2008-09 WHL Awards

Edmonton, AB - Medicine Hat Tigers' forward Tyler Ennis was the recipient of the Brad Hornung Trophy as the WHL Most Sportsmanlike player while Tigers' marketing account executive Mike Bortolussi walked away with the of the WHL Marketing and Communications award and former Tiger Trevor Linden took home the WHL Alumni Association Achievement Award in the Professional Hockey category at the 2008-09 WHL Awards luncheon held at Northlands Agricom in Edmonton today.
Ennis won the Brad Hornung Trophy award for the second consecutive year over Kelowna Rockets Colin Long. Tyler had another sensational season for the Tigers, leading the team in scoring with 43 goals and 85 points in only 61 games. Tyler's 43 goals marked the second straight season the speedy forward has scored 40 or more. For his efforts, Tyler was also named a WHL Eastern Confernce 1st Team all-star for the second year in a row. The fourth year forward of the Tigers went on to add 8 goals and 19 points in the playoffs for Medicine Hat. Tyler, a 1st round NHL draft pick of the Buffalo Sabres, was also a member of the Canada's Gold Medal winning team at the 2009 World Junior Championships in Ottawa, ON.
Mike Bortolussi joined the Tigers' marketing staff prior to the 2006-07 season after leading the Moose Jaw Warrior's marketing department for two seasons. Mike also spent time in the Western Hockey League office in Calgary completing an internship after receiving a Bachelor of Commerce in Sports Administration from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. While attending Laurentian University, Mike worked with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League for three seasons on their game day staff.
Former Tiger Trevor Linden was named the recipient of the WHL Alumni Association Achievement Award in the Professional Hockey category. Linden become the second consecutive Tiger to receive this award after Lanny McDonald walked away with the inaugural award last season.
