Syracuse Recalls Left Wing Janne Jokila

Syracuse, NY (October 29, 2003) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have recalled left wing Janne Jokila from Dayton (ECHL). The team also announced that defenseman Trent Cull will miss the next four to six weeks with a broken foot, suffered Tuesday, during practice.

Jokila, 21, has appeared in one game with Syracuse this season without recording a point. In three games with Dayton this season, Jokila recorded 3 assists and 12 penalty minutes. A native of Turku, Finland, Jokila was Columbus' seventh pick, 200th overall, in the 2000 Entry Draft.

Cull, 30, has appeared seven games this season with Syracuse, recording 13 penalty minutes prior to breaking his foot on October 28 in practice. A native of Georgetown, Ontario, Cull is expected to be out of the Crunch's line-up for up to six weeks.

The Crunch travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton today, October 29 for a 7:05 p.m. match-up. Crunch action can be heard on SportsRadio 620 with play-by-play announcer Bob McElligott.
