Adirondack Phantoms News Release

(PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 29, 2003) - The Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League today added more toughness to the squad when they received veteran left wing P.J. Stock on reassignment from the Providence Bruins. To make room on the roster, the team reassigned center Andre Savage to Providence.

Stock, 28, joins the Phantoms after scoring one goal in four games with the Providence Bruins and appearing in one game with the Boston Bruins this season. He originally joined the Bruins organization in September 2001 during the NHL Waiver Draft and compiled 13 points and 282 penalty minutes over 129 games in Boston from 2001-03.

The 5-10 Stock split his first three professional seasons (1997-2000) between the New York Rangers and Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) before signing with the Montreal Canadiens for the 2000-01 campaign. On Dec. 7, 2000, he was acquired by the Flyers with a 2001 sixth-round NHL Draft pick (turned out to be current Phantoms defenseman Dennis Seidenberg) for Gino Odjick. Stock proceeded to appear in nine games (3 points & 37 PIM) with the Phantoms and in 31 games with the Flyers during the remainder of the 2000-01 season.

"P.J. is a good all-around player at this level," said Phantoms head coach John Stevens. "He is a tough competitor and a feisty guy who was part of a Calder Cup Championship team in Hartford (in 1999-2000). We're looking forward to adding him to the lineup."

In 235 career NHL games with the Rangers, Canadiens, Flyers and Bruins, Stock has compiled 26 points (5G, 21A) and 523 PIM. He has also totaled 73 points (26G, 47A) and 779 PIM in 169 career AHL games with Hartford, Philadelphia and Providence.

"We believe P.J. Stock will bring enthusiasm, spark and grit to our team while also helping out with the leadership of our younger players," said Flyers and Phantoms assistant general manager Paul Holmgren.

Savage was in his second season in Philadelphia and had recorded one goal and 12 PIM in eight games thus far with the Phantoms. In 2002-03, he registered 42 points (11G, 31A) and 66 PIM in 64 games as a Phantom, while appearing in 16 games with the Flyers. Savage began his pro career in the Bruins organization, playing in 128 games with Providence and 50 games with Boston from 1998-2001.

Stock will make his Phantoms season debut this Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:05 p.m., when the team continues its four-game road trip in Albany. Philadelphia will then play at Hershey on Sunday, Nov. 2 before returning home to the Wachovia Spectrum on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Hershey.

Tickets to all Phantoms home games are $19, $18 and $14 for adults, and $8 for all children 14 and under, and are available now at the Wachovia Center box office and all Ticketmaster locations throughout the Delaware Valley. Tickets can also be charged by phone by calling (215) 336-2000, (856) 338-9000 or (302) 984-2000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
