LOOKING AHEAD:

Toronto wraps up its season-opening nine-game road trip on Wednesday in Grand Rapids (7:00 ET) against the Griffins, who are off to a fast start at 5-2-0-0. The Roadrunners have scored 18 goals on the season, including nine in their two wins and nine in their six losses, while Grand Rapids has been its old stingy self, allowing 15 goals in seven outings. Nathan Robinson, an OHL scoring champion two years ago, already has two goals this season for the Griffins, one fewer than his total in 53 AHL contests as a rookie.

Portland visits Worcester on Wednesday (7:05 ET) in an Atlantic Division battle between teams struggling out of the gate. The Pirates (3-5-0-0) scored just four goals in losing their first four games of the season, but have won three of their last four with Maxime Ouellet and Rastislav Stana shutting down the opposition. The IceCats are 1-4-1 in their last six, and find themselves without offensive weapon Johnny Pohl, who earned his first NHL recall by the parent St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.

Chicago puts its West-leading 5-0-0-1 record on the line against Cincinnati on Wednesday (7:00 CT, 8:00 ET). The Wolves are 11-5-1 against the Mighty Ducks all-time, including a qualifying series win en route to the 2002 Calder Cup title. Eric Healey and Simon Gamache, two of the leading goal-scorers in the AHL last season, are pacing Chicago's offense with six points each, while Chris Kunitz, a Hobey Baker finalist at Ferris State and the second-leading scorer in the nation last year, leads the Ducks with three goals on the year.
