Switchbacks Need You to Help "SAC the Republic"

Colorado Springs, Colo. (Wednesday, August 12, 2015) - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC are in first place in the USL's Western Conference.

The team plans to stay in that position with another win at home on Friday, August 14th . That's when the Switchbacks will take on the Sacramento Republic FC for a second time in a week.

The Switchbacks first played the defending USL Champions in Sacramento last Saturday, August 8th . The Switchbacks won that match 1-0, thanks to a perfectly placed ball from 18 yards out by Rony Argueta (#8). Now, the Switchbacks are hoping to "SAC the Republic" once more, this time at home.

"It's not easy playing a team twice in a week, be we are confident and looking to get three points at home this weekend," said Switchbacks FC Head Coach Steve Trittschuh.

The Switchbacks (12-7-2) stand in first place with 38 points, while Sacramento Republic FC (10-8-3) are five points behind. It's just five points that separate the top six teams in the West.

The match is this Friday, August 14th at Sand Creek Stadium. It starts at 7 p.m. We need you to help us "SAC the Republic" for a second time!

"I hope that we fill Sand Creek Stadium and build excitement around the city as we are on the verge of bringing a championship to Colorado Springs," said Switchbacks FC's Josh Phillips.
