Harrisburg, PA (August 12, 2015) - The Harrisburg City Islanders fell 5-1 to Louisville FC and took a step back in their push for the playoffs last night at Skyline Sports Complex.

Harrisburg came out flat on both ends of the pitch and it cost them dearly. Matt Fondy, Louisville's leading scorer punched home four goals, three in the first half, to knock the Islanders out of the game before they could even get going.

The loss keeps Harrisburg stagnant in the standings and still one spot out of the playoffs while Louisville gets the three points to creep even closer to league leading Rochester for first place in the East.

It was only three minutes into the game but the Islanders already found themselves down a goal on the first of Fondy's four goals on the evening.

Louisville continued to press the Islanders every time they touched the ball. City couldn't stretch together two quality passes to get a real threat on the Louisville goal.

Craig Foster was wrapped up all night by the Louisville defense, but was able to shake free to get the teams only two shots on goal during the best scoring chance of the half. His first shot ricocheted off Scott Goodwinbut fell right to his feet. He gathered the ball but fired the shot over the open net.

Fondy's second goal came off a long pass that sprung him from the Islanders backline. Islander's defensemenShane Johnson caught up to the leading scorer but wasn't up to the task. Fondy fired a shot off of Nick Noble's glove to net his second of the game.

There was only one thing that could break up the Fondy scoring party and that was Kadeem Darcis, another Louisville player. Darcis volleyed a beautiful cross right out of Noble's reach.

Fondy wrapped up his hat trick with a penalty shot late in the first half to give Louisville the 4-0 lead.

Harrisburg started the first half with constant pressure that eventually led to their only goal of the night. Andrew Lubahn got his first point as an Islander when he ripped a cross through a sea of Louisville defenders to fall atJose Barrill's feet. Barrill knocked the shot home from point blank range to put the Islanders on the board.

The continuing pressure led to a few quality scoring chances but Goodwin kept the slim hopes of a comeback at bay.

Louisville would add one more tally to really put the nail in the coffin on Fondy's fourth goal of the night.

Harrisburg will see the pitch again next Wednesday, August 19 against Toronto FC II at 7 p.m.

The next "home" match for the Islanders will be the match-up with FC Montreal hosted in Lancaster at Clipper Magazine Stadium Saturday, August 29 at 7 p.m.
