New Jersey Jackals News Release
LITTLE FALLS, NJ-The seven contestants who will compete for the chance to win $5,000 in cash in Survive the Stadium '02 have been chosen by the management of the New Jersey Jackals baseball team. Four men and three women make up the contestant group in the second annual battle to live 24 hours a day for seven days at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls, NJ without getting voted out of the ballpark each night by the fans attending Jackals' games.
E.J. Davis, a 53 year-old, single resident of Chatham, is the oldest of the contestants. She is the Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for a design firm in New Jersey.
Tina Galasso, a recently engaged-to-be-married 24 year-old assistant to a physical therapist, will also try her hand at winning the five thousand dollars. She currently resides in Ridgefield.
Twenty year-old Michael Gross, a college student at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, is the youngest contestant this year. The Wayne Valley High School grad still lives in Wayne during the summer months.
Michael Maglio, a former United States Marine and current financial planner, will also test his will in Survive the Stadium '02. Mike, who lives in Wayne, is a married father of four children.
Thirty-eight year-old Andrew McLaughlin of Clifton used to work in the United States Navy and currently is a dairy manager. He is married and the father of two children.
Diane Meehan of Rutherford was almost a contestant in last year's Survive the Stadium, finishing as an alternate to the chosen contestants. This year the 28 year-old benefit consultant will be in the contest looking to win the cash prize.
Twenty-four year-old Jason Velante of Clifton is the seventh contestant this year. The Montclair State University graduate currently is a legal secretary.
Survive the Stadium '02 will begin on Monday July 29th and run through Sunday August 4th. The contestants will be asked to perform many and varied challenging tasks and will be expected to entertain the crowds at Yogi Berra Stadium during the week. Each night one contestant will be voted out of the stadium by the fans in attendance until only the winner is left on Sunday the 4th of August.
During that week, the defending Northern League champion New Jersey Jackals will play the Adirondack Lumberjacks (July 29-31) and the Elmira Pioneers (August 2-4). For ticket information, fans are asked to call (973) 746-7434.
